Job summary

UNC Health in North Carolina is seeking a Community Outreach Specialist to advance access to care through culturally responsive engagement, language access support, and health education. This role builds partnerships and supports vaccination clinics, screenings, and data entry at outreach events and community clinics.

You will collaborate with department leadership, provide interpretation services, and promote accessible health services for diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in community outreach, community health, public health, language access services, program administrative support, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Supports community outreach, planning, coordination, and execution of outreach events.
• Supports community-based clinics, CHE Mobile Health clinics, and telehealth visits with interpretation services as needed and EPIC documentation.
• Provides navigation support to connect patients with health services and SDOH resources.
• Maintains knowledge of health trends and UNC Health programs by attending trainings and community events.
• Educates community members on health topics and provides health education materials.
• Supports language access programs including translations and interpretations to increase accessibility.
• Ensures consistent program data and reporting including narrative reports, presentations, tables and graphs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
