Job summary

Mutual Housing California is seeking a dedicated Community Organizer to support residents across multiple sites in Sacramento. You will cultivate resident leadership, run engaging meetings, and build partnerships with local organizations to strengthen neighborhood wellbeing.

The role emphasizes equitable community development and requires strong outreach, organization, and cultural competency. A full-time schedule and hourly compensation are provided within a supportive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with diverse, low‑income communities is preferred.
• Fluency in a second language is a plus but not required.
• Ability to navigate complex systems and build relationships across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and develop resident leaders and volunteers through outreach and meetings.
• Guide residents to identify issues and foster collective action.
• Plan, coordinate, and host meetings, trainings, and events for residents.
• Build partnerships with community organizations and public agencies.
• Enter data into Salesforce and prepare program reports and evaluations.
