Job summary

CorTrust Bank in the Minneapolis/St. Paul region is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to serve our communities. You will work closely with local housing authorities and financial literacy programs to educate applicants on loan and assistance programs.

You will solicit and pre-qualify loan applications, prepare credit packages, present requests to underwriting for approval, review documents, and coordinate closing with borrowers, title companies, and realtors.

Qualifications

• Mortgage lending background preferred but training will be provided.
• Minimum of 1 year in financial services, banking, or mortgage industry.
• Experience and connections with local housing programs preferred.
• Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal oversight.
• Adaptable to system, process, product and service changes.
• Strong reasoning, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Committed to integrity and professional conduct.
• Familiarity with federal and state mortgage regulations.

Responsibilities

• Advocates in the community to deepen relationships and market loan products.
• Reviews pre-qualification requests and issues pre-qualification letters.
• Explains lending parameters and loan programs to borrowers.
• Collaborates with housing authorities and programs to locate assistance.
• Prepares loan applications and presents packages to underwriting.
• Reviews loan documents, title, appraisal, and survey prior to closing.
• Coordinates funding timing with borrowers, title company, and realtor.
• Refers borrowers to bank partners for other needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
