Job summary

CorTrust Bank in Woodbury, MN, seeks a Community Development Mortgage Loan Officer to grow relationships, pre-qualify borrowers, and coordinate with housing authorities. This role supports underwriting and closing prep while engaging with communities across the Minneapolis/St. Paul region.

Qualifications

• Mortgage lending background preferred; training provided for the right candidate.
• Minimum of 1 year in financial services, banking, or mortgage industry experience.
• Experience and connections with local housing programs and agencies.
• Ability to perform primary responsibilities with minimal oversight.
• Adapt easily to system, process, product, and service changes.
• Ability to reason, problem solve, and think critically.
• Demonstrates integrity, diplomacy, and respect.
• Knowledge of mortgage banking laws and regulations.
• Understand and abide by CorTrust policies and applicable federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Advocates in the community to deepen relationships and market loan products.
• Reviews borrower requests and issues pre-qualification letters.
• Reviews loan applications and explains lending parameters and terms.
• Partners with housing authorities to help applicants navigate programs and assistance.
• Works with borrowers to secure information for underwriting and conducts site visits as needed.
• Prepares and reviews loan packages per underwriting policies and presents for approval.
• Reviews documents, title, appraisal, and survey prior to closing.
• Coordinates with borrowers, title company, and realtor to meet funding conditions.
• Identifies other banking or insurance needs and refers borrowers to bank partners.
• Other duties as assigned.
