Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Community Mortgage Lending Officer at entry level to drive mortgage sales and build client relationships with community clients, real estate agents, and affordable housing partners in coordination with the Consumer Product Sales team.

You will consult with customers on financial situations and lending needs, analyze information, and recommend lending solutions while promoting Citi’s brand to real estate agents and referral sources.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant experience.
• Residential Mortgage experience required.
• 3+ years previous mortgage sales experience required.
• Established relationships with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending nonprofits in origination territory.
• Experience with community loan products including LMI mortgage solutions and assistance programs.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about financial situation and lending needs for home ownership goals.
• Collect and analyze information on finances, goals, risk tolerance, income, assets, debts, credit history.
• Analyze financial information to assess qualification for lending solutions.
• Make recommendations on lending solutions to meet objectives.
• Advise customers on risks and benefits of alternatives.
• Promote Citi’s brand and lending services to real estate agents and referral sources.
• Visit customers outside Citi’s offices to expand the client base.
• Coordinate with Operations to transfer loan applications and obtain required information.
• Work with Processors/Closers to ensure timely loan closings.
• Develop referral networks with Realtors, CPAs, builders, and others.
