Job summary

Citi is hiring an entry-level Community Mortgage Lending Officer in San Jose, CA. You will drive mortgage sales and build client relationships with community clients, real estate agents, and affordable housing partners, coordinating with Consumer Product Sales to offer Citi lending solutions.

You will register as a mortgage loan originator (NMLS) and maintain disclosures while promoting Citi’s lending products.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant mortgage experience is required.
• Residential Mortgage experience is required.
• 3+ years mortgage sales experience is required.
• Established relationships with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending nonprofits in origination territory.
• Experience with community loan products including LMI solutions and lender paid/third-party programs.
• Must have an established book of business.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred.
• Ability to explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives to customers.
• Ability to communicate required documents and information for loan applications.
• Knowledge of consumer lending laws including RESPA and fair lending.
• Strong customer service skills and self-motivation; able to work independently.
• Strong relationship development and management skills; mortgage product expertise.
• Must register as a mortgage loan originator (NMLS) and obtain a unique identifier.
• Originate a minimum of 3 loans per month with 50% CRA/minority tract mix.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about financial situation and lending needs to help achieve home ownership goals.
• Collect and analyze financial information and credit history to assess lending eligibility.
• Analyze information to determine initial qualification for lending solutions.
• Recommend lending solutions aligning with customer objectives.
• Advise on risks and benefits of lending options.
• Promote Citi's brand and lending services to real estate partners and clients.
• Visit customers outside Citi offices as needed based on geography and market conditions.
• Collaborate with internal partners to support customers and grow business.
• Refer customers to other Citi professionals for non-lending financial services.
• Coordinate with Operations to ensure smooth loan application transfer and documentation.
