Job summary

Union Station Homeless Services in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Food Services Assistant to support the Food Services Program operations. You will greet patrons, assist in breakfast preparation and service, manage food donations, help with inventory, and deliver meals to Union Station locations.

This is an on-site role requiring physical stamina and attention to safety and sanitation. The position requires one year of experience in food services, a high school diploma or GED, and a California

Qualifications

• One year of experience in food services or meal preparation in residential facility, cafeteria or commercial food establishment.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• California Department of Health Food Safety Card required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a hospitable and welcoming atmosphere for patrons, volunteers and donors to Union Station.
• Provide guidance to volunteers with breakfast preparation and service.
• Organize, courteously acknowledge, and safely process food donations according to Union Station policy
• Assist Associate Director of Food Services in maintaining inventory of food and paper goods
• Prepare food and cook as necessary
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in the kitchen and food storage areas
• Assist Associate Director of Food Services with menu planning
• Maintain organization in pantry and food storage areas
• Deliver meals to Union Station locations
• Other duties as assigned.
