5T Management is seeking an Helper A to support janitorial services and building operations at assigned CHA communities in Chicago. This bargaining-unit role follows the SEIU Local 1 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform custodial and cleaning duties in common areas and vacant units.
• Support building operations including heating/cooling systems and minor repairs.
• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting and outdoor work in varying weather.
• Safely use cleaning equipment and follow safety procedures.
• Professional interaction with residents, coworkers, and contractors.
• Willingness to supply basic hand tools if required by union agreement.
• Eligible to join SEIU Local 1 per CBA.
• Complete probationary period as per CBA.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of common areas and vacant units.
• Perform snow removal to ensure safe access to buildings and walkways.
• Support heating, hot water, and cooling systems under maintenance leadership.
• Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Care for tools and equipment to support continuous operation.
• Show vacant spaces to prospective residents as authorized.
• Observe contractors and report findings to management.
• Respond promptly to emergency repairs to prevent damage.
• Complete required logs and documentation as applicable.
• Adhere to SEIU Local 1 CBA and safety requirements.
