Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. (TCB) is seeking a dedicated Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of our community sites in Chicago.

Under the Service Maintenance Manager, you will perform interior and exterior cleaning and ensure residents and staff experience a welcoming environment. This full-time on-site role requires five days a week in office, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and good English communication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash cans, clean windows, walls, floors, stairwells, and carpets as scheduled.
• Maintain exterior grounds by picking up litter and managing trash areas.
• Support maintenance staff in landscaping, including sweeping sidewalks, raking, planting flowers and mulch.
• Perform cleaning of vacant apartments on turnover.
• Replace smoke/CO batteries, light bulbs and assist with minor deficiencies.
• Assist in snow removal and be available during weather events.
