Job summary

The Habitat Company, LLC is hiring for a full-time Janitor A (Helper A) to maintain and enhance the curb appeal of our Chicago-area properties. You will assist the Community Manager, perform routine maintenance, and support safety compliance across the site.

Responsibilities include walking units, replacing bulbs, completing work orders, and ensuring accurate timekeeping in Paycom. The role requires basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC skills and a willingness to work standby shifts

Qualifications

• Full-time janitorial/maintenance experience.
• Basic electric, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC skills.
• Maintain open lines of communication with internal and external contacts.
• Standby emergency schedule availability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct building walk-downs daily and replace bulbs and batteries as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain curb appeal of the property.
• Complete assigned work orders and final inspections of units turned over for leasing.
• Maintain daily timekeeping records in Paycom."
• Assist Community Manager and participate in annual apartment inspections.
• Be prepared for standby emergency coverage in evenings, weekends, and holidays.
