Job summary

The City of New York, Department of Social Services (HRA/DHS), is seeking a Community Assistant to function as a Mailroom Control Clerk within the Administrative Services Division. You will support facilities operations, coordinate communications, and assist with mail, stock, and reporting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist liaison activities between Facilities & Administrative Services and MAP’s Eligibility Information Services Unit, Community Based Organizations or designated workgroups to convey information for coordination; may assist in facilities management and mailroom/stockroom duties.
  • Provide notification of office moves to elected officials and community groups and coordinate announcements to mitigate impact on clientele.
  • Provide clerical support, type correspondence from rough drafts, research and assemble community materials, maintain databases and prepare reports.
