Business Development Liaison

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PIW is a 130-bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial, and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PIW has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in the safe, historical Tenleytown neighborhood, PIW is one mile from the Tenleytown Metro stop and within walking distance to local cafes and restaurants.

Position Summary

The Business Development Liaison implements the philosophy, policy, procedures, systems, and strategic goals set forth by the senior management team while maximizing referral potentials from assigned accounts and developing new business to achieve the goals and objectives of the business development systems.

Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health area, marketing, business administration, or related field is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience in healthcare business development/marketing with measurable results, preferably with knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles.

Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license.

Marketing Communications: Manage social media platforms.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Develop new accounts and markets in the employer EAP, Primary Care Physicians/Licensed Practitioners, and managed care segments, as directed by the Director of Business Development.
  2. Develop a designated number of qualified business contacts weekly to meet overall goals.
  3. Maintain and update account management lists.
  4. Engage with primary accounts through visits, calls, and mailings to build trust.
  5. Monitor referrals and admissions, and strategize to maximize referral potential.
  6. Stay informed on industry changes through self-education, peer learning, and community involvement.
  7. Maintain competitive intelligence files and contribute to SWOT analysis.
  8. Participate in team efforts to increase productivity and avoid duplication.
  9. Promote team concepts within the facility.
  10. Analyze facility statistics and contribute to strategic planning.
  11. Continuously analyze the healthcare environment for opportunities.
  12. Assist with internal marketing efforts like newsletters and event communications.
  13. Attend meetings and provide timely reports.
  14. Adhere to policies, participate in in-service training, and uphold standards of conduct.
  15. Support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  16. Maintain confidentiality of staff and patient information.
