Job summary

Brigham House in Washington, DC, is seeking a cook for its Food Services and Chef department. You will prepare and cook meals for residents, ensuring presentations meet established standards and safety policies.

The role requires reading recipes, following production guides, maintaining clean, sanitary kitchens, and collaborating with the Food Service Director to deliver satisfying dining experiences. A high school diploma and Serve Safe certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1–3 years experience as a cook in hospitality or healthcare.
• ServSafe Certification required.
• Able to read and follow recipes and production guides, logs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level of customer service and promote restaurant-style dining.
• Work with the Food Service Director to meet residents’ dining needs.
• Maintain kitchen and storage areas in a clean, safe, sanitary condition.
• Open and/or close the kitchen as assigned.
• Follow cleaning schedules and food safety practices.
• Assist with special events, banquets, and theme meals.
