Job summary

Anchor Home is seeking a dependable Direct Support Professional/Activities Assistant to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role is highly mobile and community-based, requiring extensive driving and transportation to various community locations.

You will help clients access recreation, volunteering, education and employment opportunities, and build meaningful relationships within their communities.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or College Degree.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and passion for supporting people with developmental disabilities.
• Self-starter, able to work independently in the field.
• Flexibility and commitment to community inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with daily community integration and life skills activities.
• Drive individuals to community locations, appointments and activities; reliable transportation is essential.
• Identify opportunities for social connection based on individual interests.
• Develop relationships with local organizations to create inclusive experiences.
• Follow the Plan of Care and provide progress feedback to the Delegating Nurse.
• Prioritize client needs with professionalism and empathy; ensure safety in all settings.
