Job summary

Community Link, Inc. seeks a Community Opportunities Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on increasing independence, skill-building, volunteering, and pursuing integrated employment through discovery in community settings.

The position emphasizes inclusion, self-determination, relationship-building, and active participation in community life, with individualized, person-centered services to help achieve personal goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or High School Diploma/GED with at least one year of experience in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as participant program plans and procedures; write routine reports.
• Must pass the TABE with an 80% or higher.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt to changing program needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance curricula, lesson plans, and activities for skill development in community engagement and employment readiness.
• Provide instruction to build social, communication, self-advocacy, problem-solving, safety, technology, and workplace readiness skills.
• Teach safe community navigation, including public transportation use and accessing community resources.
• Assist participants in identifying and pursuing community-based employment opportunities and job retention.
• Provide individualized, on-site, and follow-along support to promote integration into competitive employment.
• Document services accurately and communicate regularly with the team in a person-centered, compliant manner.
• Collaborate with the Employment and Inclusion Coordinator to connect participants' interests with meaningful opportunities.
