Job summary

The Salvation Army Evansville Corps is seeking a Community Development Coordinator to expand services in Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Posey counties. You will recruit and develop volunteers, coordinate community engagement, and promote the ministry through social media and outreach efforts.

You will work with the development team to strengthen partnerships, coordinate events, and support fundraising goals while representing The Salvation Army in the community.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field preferred.
• Experience: Nonprofit or volunteer coordination experience preferred; social media, digital content, and event coordination experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and develop qualified volunteers from the community.
• Maintain the volunteer database and prepare reports.
• Provide in-depth training for volunteers and create monthly newsletters.
• Coordinate volunteers for Christmas Red Kettle Campaign and other events.
• Develop promotional materials and community partnerships to advance programs.
