Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive medical services to incarcerated patients under the supervision of the Site Medical Director. You will ensure documentation, coordinate with site leadership, and deliver high-quality care in a corrections environment.

Requires an NP license in the state, CPR certification, and experience in medical/surgical or emergency/trauma care. The role emphasizes patient confidentiality and collaboration with the health team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Advanced degree in an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of employment.
• CPR certification is required.
• Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics and on-site treatment.
• Adheres to policies and procedures for medical care and documents in SOAP format.
• Maintains accountability for professional judgments and communicates with Medical Director/Health Services Administrator.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy for incarcerated individuals.
• Participates in facility committees and provides input as requested.
