Job summary

Wellpath is hiring a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive medical care to incarcerated patients under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and site physicians. You will ensure timely documentation and coordinate with the Medical Director and HSA for coverage in emergencies.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, adherence to policy, and collaboration with a warm, clinical team to deliver high-quality care within a corrections environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Advanced NP degree (MSN/ARNP) or equivalent.
• Current NP state licensure.
• CPR certification.
• Experience in medical/surgical or emergency/trauma settings; corrections experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical care to inmates, including exams, chronic care, and infirmary rounds.
• Maintains progress notes in SOAP format and adheres to formulary guidelines.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates referrals off-site when needed.
• Supports policies for admission, transfer, and specialty referrals.
• Maintains confidentiality and participates in facility committees as requested.
