The Department of Health Services is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Community Health Worker vacancies related to the homelessness crisis, with the possibility of permanent employment following an initial assessment period.
LA County DHS is the second largest municipal health system in the nation, providing care for 600,000 patients annually, employing over 23,000 staff, and operating with a budget of over $6.9 billion.
Housing for Health provides housing and supportive services to homeless individuals with complex health needs. It is one of the largest homeless housing entities in LA County.
Option i: Six months of full-time experience working with the public or community groups in health or social services.
Option ii: Six months of experience as a Mental Health Advocate with LA County.
Applicants must meet one of these options to qualify. Part-time work will be prorated.
A valid California Class C Driver License or alternative transportation method is required. The physical class is Light, involving light lifting and considerable walking.
