Job summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking a Health Educator to support planning, implementation, and delivery of health education topics for patients. You will provide individual and group education, and participate in community events, creating culturally and linguistically appropriate curriculums and programs.

You will evaluate effectiveness, communicate health topics clearly, and collaborate with teams to promote community health.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience delivering health education, preferably in a community health setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Health Science, Nutritional Science, Public Health, Communications, or closely related field required; Master's preferred.
• Certifications may be required depending on assignment (e.g., CA HIV Test Counselor, CPT for waived testing, lactation certification).
• Travel between sites and other locations may be required; valid CA driver's license and insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in project data collection, evaluation activities, and required reporting.
• Plan, create, and develop health education curriculums with varied teaching techniques.
• Conduct group/individual assessments and provide current, accurate health information.
• Provide group classes and staff community health events.
