Meridian HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support our primary care team. You will room patients, document in electronic health records, and help ensure smooth, compassionate care for individuals and families in our community.

Responsibilities include assisting with on-site physicals, immunizations, and lab testing while maintaining patient safety and accurate records. We value patient-focused, team-oriented staff committed to accessible, community-centered care.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or 2 years' experience in medical or physician's office.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Computer and EHR experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician as needed, including rooming clients and documenting in electronic health records.
• Assists with on-site physicals, immunizations, drug screens, and additional testing when scheduled.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures in accordance with established clinical protocols, ensuring patient safety, specimen integrity, and proper labeling, handling, and documentation of all laboratory samples.
• Performs special procedures such as electrocardiograms, TB skin testing, eye distance exams, vital signs, and audiograms.
• Performs urine pregnancy testing, urinalysis, urine drug screens, breathalyzers, and other tests as necessary and as directed by the physician or Medical Office Manager.
• Charts results of all testing, communications, medication, and all relevant information regarding patient care.
• Assists in creating and maintaining patient files, charts, and follow-ups on an ongoing basis.
• Places phone calls to convey physician information for referral, i.e., specialist, verbal orders for prescriptions, pre-authorizations, and related communications.
