Job summary

Meridian Health Services in Peru, IN seeks a Medical Assistant to support patients of all ages in a primary care setting. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, and focuses on compassionate, whole-person care.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, preparing exam rooms, assisting with exams and telehealth, and coordinating labs and patient documentation, while upholding OSHA/CLIA standards. Certification preferred; EHR experience helps.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or equivalency required; Associates degree preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, NCMA, CCMA, or RMA) preferred.
• 6–12 months of clinical experience preferred.

• Support providers with exams, minor procedures, and patient documentation.
• Perform phone triage, manage labs and records, and follow infection-control protocols.
• Conduct screenings (PHQ-9, Edinburgh, GAD-7) and assist with telehealth.
• Prepare medications, maintain certifications, and protect patient confidentiality.
• Complete daily/weekly tasks, attend meetings, and uphold OSHA/CLIA standards.
