Job summary

Meridian Health Services in Muncie, IN, is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support patients in our Pediatrics Primary Care office. You will take vitals, prepare exam rooms, assist with exams and minor procedures, and help document patient information.

The role emphasizes patient confidentiality, infection-control, and teamwork across providers. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required; CMA/NCMA/CCMA/RMA certification is preferred; associates degree encouraged;

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or equivalency required; Associates degree preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, NCMA, CCMA, or RMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through visit and prepare them for provider assessments.
• Take vitals, prep exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain supplies.
• Support providers with exams, minor procedures, and patient documentation.
• Perform phone triage, manage labs and records, and follow infection-control protocols.
• Conduct screenings (PHQ-9, Edinburgh, GAD-7) and assist with telehealth.
• Prepare medications, maintain certifications, and protect patient confidentiality.
• Complete daily-weekly tasks, attend meetings, and uphold OSHA/CLIA standards.
