Job summary

Related Affordable seeks a Porter in Bridgeport, CT to keep a 101-unit community clean and welcoming. Under the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll maintain common areas, assist with light maintenance, and ensure a safe, well-kept environment for residents and visitors.

You’ll contribute to resident experience by upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across shared spaces. If you’re dependable and detail-oriented, you’ll join a supportive team focused on quality service.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of janitorial, cleaning, or porter experience in residential or commercial settings.
• Basic knowledge of light maintenance tasks is a plus.
• Snow removal and landscaping experience a plus.
• Comfortable working with and around cleaning agents and equipment.
• Ability to complete daily assignments with minimal supervision.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Dedicated to exceeding expectations by providing exceptional service.
• Willingness to embrace feedback and continuously improve.
• Strong belief in teamwork and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Complete requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.
• Clean and maintain all common areas, including front lobby, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairways, and parking areas.
• Maintain floors, vacuum carpets and rugs, wash and wax hard surfaces, and clean tile grout.
• Wash walls, doors, and windows in shared areas.
• Replace light bulbs in common area lighting fixtures as needed.
• Ensure all trash receptacles are emptied and waste is transported to the designated disposal area.
• Monitor and restock sanitary and cleaning supplies to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Assist with light maintenance duties such as replacing air filters, minor touch-ups, and basic repairs.
• Support seasonal upkeep tasks, including snow removal and grounds maintenance.
• Assist in inventory control of janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the community with a positive and courteous attitude.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
