Job summary

Sun Communities, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Supervisor in Muskegon, MI to lead community grounds, facilities, and utility systems. You will supervise maintenance staff, prioritize work orders, and coordinate on-site contractors to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will perform inspections, assist with move-in procedures, maintain logs, and uphold safety compliance while supporting the Community Manager with daily operations and capital projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years in general maintenance and grounds work.
• 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• 6 months knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, pool, and grounds maintenance.
• Proficient with hand tools and power equipment.
• Excellent organizational skills and communication.
• Basic computer proficiency including MS Office and email.
• Ability to respond to community needs during non-business hours.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on work assignments to ensure timely completion.
• Assist with selection of contractors and monitor on-site work.
• Complete regular inspections of resident sites.
• Assist in move-in procedures and supervise contractors.
• Coordinate team selection and development.
• Prioritize daily work and respond to service requests.
• Assist with maintenance of grounds, facilities, and utilities.
• Conduct water testing and related maintenance as applicable.
• Collaborate with Community Manager on on-call schedule.
• Maintain safety procedures and logs.
• Maintain inventory and approve purchases within budget.
• Report status and hazards to Community Manager daily.
• Assist with capital expenditure review and other duties as assigned.
