Job summary

City of Charleston is seeking a Program Coordinator to plan, organize, coordinate and implement a variety of community, recreational, cultural and special events at community centers.

The role requires working nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed to meet City goals. You will develop events, enforce facility rules, distribute promotions, evaluate facilities and prepare program plans for budget input.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in recreation, sports management, wellness or closely related field.
• One year of related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid West Virginia driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and organize special events for community centers.
• Enforce rules and regulations of recreational facilities to maintain discipline and safety.
• Develop and distribute promotional materials as needed.
• Evaluate recreation areas, facilities and services to determine results.
• Collects activity and registration records and prepares program plans for budget input.
