Job summary

Charlotte County is seeking a dynamic Community Programs Coordinator to plan and lead recreation, historical and community programs and events. You’ll supervise staff, build partnerships, manage logistics, and help create meaningful experiences for the public.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree and at least two years in historic preservation, cultural education, recreation, or athletics, plus strong communication and budget skills.

Qualifications

• An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience.
• Associate’s degree or two years of relevant program experience in recreation, historic preservation, or cultural education.
• Strong communication, budgeting, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver engaging community, recreation, and historical programs and events.
• Build partnerships with schools, organizations, and community groups; manage logistics and budgets.
• Lead outreach through marketing, social media, and public engagement; ensure quality customer service.
• Support exhibits, operations, and daily administrative functions; supervise staff and volunteers.
