Job summary

Catholic Social Services of Columbus is seeking a Community Engagement Assistant to help expand volunteer opportunities and coordinate events in our Columbus area programs.

You will recruit, orient, schedule and supervise volunteers, collaborate with partners, and represent CSS at outreach events, with a typical 37.5-hour work week and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, preferred.
• Three (3) years, experience in Community Engagement, preferred.
• Experience with event management software (Signup Genius, Eventbrite, etc.), preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with logistics and coordination of group-based client activities and special projects.
• Responsible for receiving, organizing, and ordering event items scheduled events.
• Coordinate with community engagement partners to maintain and develop community events.
• Collaborate with Programs to assist with volunteer recruitment to increase engagement.
• Represents the agency at outreach events.

Assist in the development and management of strategies to provide volunteer opportunities in the community. Recruit, retain and lead the growth of volunteerism throughout all programs within Catholic Social Services by conducting orientations, schedules, and coordinate volunteers for events.

Engagement activities

Education and Experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Ohio driver's license and state minimum car insurance coverage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently.

Work Environment

• Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
• In the community, as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• A flexible work schedule, as needed, for events, i.e., evenings and weekends.
