Job summary

AID of Indiana in Butler, IN seeks Community Engagement staff to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in family homes and in the community. This part-time position offers flexible shifts up to 10 hours, with driving between homes and varied schedules.

You will assist with daily living activities, support services such as Respite and Transportation, and participate in on-the-job training provided by AID of Indiana.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, reliable, and able to work independently.
• Experience with caregiving or health care settings is helpful.
• Valid driver’s license required; driving may be part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at family homes and in community settings.
• Help with daily living activities and community participation.
• Transport clients between locations and schedule visits as needed.
• Support family and client needs in line with services provided (Respite, PAC, DHI).
• Participate in on-the-job training and certification provided by AID of Indiana.

Seeking

Community Engagement staff to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their family homes and out in the community.

Hours

Community engagement staff may work up to 10 hour shifts per the family's schedule. Shifts may be scheduled any day of the week. You may work with multiple families, and driving from one home to the next is possible. Tasks depend on the Services the family qualifies for, eg: Respite services, PAC services, DHI Services, and Transportation.

Training

All training and certification is provided and paid for by AID of Indiana. And you’ll be on the clock as soon as you start training!

Pay

$16.25/hr

Locations

We have offices in Fort Wayne and Muncie, but provide services to individuals throughout Indiana. Available positions vary based on location.

Skills Required

• Compassionate, reliable, and can work independently. Assisting the client with "light" house cleaning, prepping meals, going out into the community for activities, teaching life skills. Can potentially include helping with ADLs (activities of daily living), which includes; bathing, dressing, and other hygiene tasks.
