Job summary

AID of Indiana is seeking a Community Engagement Staff to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in family homes and in the community across Indiana. The role offers pay at $16.25 per hour, up to 50% travel, and practical on-the-job training.

Shifts can be up to 10 hours, days vary, and you may work with multiple families. Requirements include HS diploma, 18+, valid driver’s license, and a compassionate, independent approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in family homes and in the community.
• Travel between multiple homes as scheduled; participate in services such as Respite, PAC, DHI, and Transportation.
• Provide light housekeeping, meal prep, and support for daily living activities as needed.

Community Engagement Staff

Seeking a Community Engagement staff to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their family homes and out in the community.

Hours

Community engagement staff may work up to 10 hour shifts per the family's schedule. Shifts may be scheduled any day of the week. You may work with multiple families, and driving from one home to the next is possible. Tasks depend on the Services the family qualifies for, eg: Respite services, PAC services, DHI Services, and Transportation.

Training

All training and certification is provided and paid for by AID of Indiana. And you’ll be on the clock as soon as you start training!

Pay

Pay: $16.25/hr

Locations

We have offices in Fort Wayne and Muncie, but provide services to individuals throughout Indiana. Available positions vary based on location.

Qualifications

• 18 years+

Skills Required

• Compassionate, reliable, and can work independently.
• Assisting the client with "light" house cleaning, prepping meals, going out into the community for activities, teaching life skills.
• Can potentially include helping with ADLs (activities of daily living), which includes bathing, dressing, and other hygiene tasks.
