Job summary

Green & Healthy Homes Initiative seeks a Community Engagement and Education Coordinator for the Baltimore, MD area. This role reports to the Maryland Programs Department and leads outreach, engagement and partnership development for programs across Baltimore City, County and statewide.

In-person, field and hybrid duties are expected, with travel as needed. The role emphasizes building relationships with community organizations, delivering education on lead poisoning, asthma, and healthy homes,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Communications/Marketing, Social Work, Health, or relevant field.
• 2+ years of outreach and education experience with diverse communities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competency for working with varied stakeholders.
• Experience in Environmental Health, Healthy Homes or Public Health preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication, with presentation/training ability.
• Willingness to travel and handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and education events, trainings and presentations to advance mission and meet grant and contract requirements.
• Assist with planning major outreach events (Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, Healthy Homes Month, Maryland Asthma Summit).
• Plan and organize outreach in Baltimore City/County, Prince George’s County, Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore.
• Cultivate cross-sector stakeholders to support climate and health initiatives.
• Build relationships with state agencies, health departments, insurers and community organizations.
• Develop new community and stakeholder partnerships statewide.
• Coordinate Maryland Partnership meetings and recruit volunteers for outreach events.
• Maintain outreach calendar and update website events; manage partner directory.
• Other duties as assigned to support organizational mission.
