Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) invites applications for a Communications Generalist 1-3 within the Office of the Provost, Division of Community Engagement. The role focuses on telling the story of Mary and Frances Youth Center, the VCU Health Hub at 25th, and broader community engagement initiatives.

The Coordinator will produce multimedia content, manage websites, coordinate newsletters and campaigns, and ensure brand alignment with VCU standards while serving internal and external

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years in marketing/communications.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience creating content about community engagement.
• Experience supervising students in community activities.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce photography, videography, motion graphics, and multimedia storytelling.
• Manage Division websites with accessible content and branding.
• Create visual content reflecting the Division's impact.
• Design and produce print and digital communications materials.
• Develop newsletters, reports, emails, and campaigns.
• Create and optimize email campaigns and segmentation.
• Write, edit, and publish website content and stories.
• Develop messaging and integrated marketing plans aligned with strategic goals.
