Job summary

Kennebunk Land Trust is seeking a part-time Community Engagement & Communications Manager to connect people with land conservation through storytelling and programs.

The role covers communications, fundraising support, and community events, with flexible location options (office, remote, hybrid). The office is at 6 Brown Street, Kennebunk, ME, and schedule can be discussed to fit both KLT and the applicant.

Qualifications

• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling across multiple formats.
• Experience with fundraising writing and donor engagement.
• Experience with digital communications tools (email platforms, social media, website management).
• Demonstrated ability to work with volunteers and collaborative processes.
• Graphic design skills with Canva and Adobe Suite are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a year-round communications calendar across digital and print platforms.
• Create content strategy for newsletters and oversee production of print/e-newsletters.
• Produce compelling stories highlighting landowners, volunteers, and donors.
• Grow social media presence with a mission-driven content strategy.
• Maintain and update website content for accessibility and engagement.
• Develop brochures, signage, and interpretive materials for on-site visitors.
• Position the Land Trust as a trusted voice on conservation topics.
• Support advocacy efforts aligned with organizational priorities.
• Increase communications around donor impacts across channels.
