Job summary

LTWC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing wildlife. The Development & Communications Manager partners with the Executive Director to advance fundraising, communications, and outreach, supporting major gifts, grants, events, sponsorships, and annual campaigns while guiding the outreach department and community engagement efforts.

The role ensures all external communications align with LTWC’s brand and mission, strengthening community trust and donor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, environmental studies, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, marketing, or a related role.
• Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
• Experience supporting fundraising activities such as donor stewardship, grant writing, campaigns, and fundraising events.
• Strong writing, storytelling, and digital communication skills, including experience managing websites, email newsletters, social media platforms, and donor databases or CRM systems.
• Experience planning or supporting fundraising events and community engagement initiatives.
• Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build relationships with donors, partners, volunteers, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Develop yearly fundraising plan that includes major gifts, annual appeals, planned giving, events, and campaigns.
• Manage donor pipelines, engagement, and stewardship; track performance and insights.
• Oversee communications, brand alignment, and external messaging.
• Lead Community Programs Coordinator and coordinate outreach and education.
• Prepare grant proposals and manage grant reporting.
