Job summary

Maine Coast Heritage Trust seeks a Conservation Project Manager to lead a portfolio of land protection efforts along coastal Maine. You’ll develop landowner relationships, conduct negotiations, manage budgets, and coordinate with stewardship, grants, fundraising, and communications to advance conservation.

Based in Topsham or nearby locations, the role offers a hybrid schedule with two office days and three remote days, and a salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 4 years’ land use and conservation experience.
  • Alternatively, 6–7 years’ experience in land conservation involving real estate transactions.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Adobe.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritize, initiate, and complete conservation projects in the designated region.
  • Collaborate with Stewardship Department to develop budgets and manage protected properties.
  • Represent MCHT to partners and at conferences to highlight projects.
  • Develop and maintain strategic working relationships with partners.
  • Oversee contractors and manage project budgets.
  • Perform special projects as required.
