Job summary

Mountain America Credit Union in Park City, Utah, is seeking a Retail Mortgage Loan Officer to proactively solicit new residential mortgage loans and promote CU mortgage products. You’ll spend significant time marketing outside the credit union and mentor junior MLOs.

You will manage the loan lifecycle from origination to close, coordinating with Mortgage Loan Coordinators and underwriters to meet timelines while delivering exceptional member service.

Qualifications

• 2 years professional experience in a progressive financial lending setting.
• Mortgage experience preferred.
• Minimum high school diploma or educational equivalent; a two-year college degree preferred.
• Ability to obtain NMLS number and comply with S.A.F.E. Act requirements.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and maintains a network of outside referrals (real estate agents, builders, personal and professional contacts).
• Develops mortgage lending opportunities by community involvement.
• Responds to member inquiries and referrals from CU channels.
• Interviews borrowers to analyze financial data and advise on financing options.
• Meets with members during loan processing and coordinates with partners.
• Utilizes Encompass and Blend to complete loan applications and track progress.
• Ensures loan package is complete and submitted to Underwriting within 48 hours.
