Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Driver/Cook to prepare and package meals for delivery to designated program sites across Los Angeles County. When not delivering, you will assist in food preparation, kitchen sanitation, and perform inventory tasks.

This on-site role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, fingerprint clearance, TB clearance, vaccines, and a California driver’s license. VOALA offers competitive medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Fingerprinted clearance and background checks required.
• TB clearance within 6 months of hire.
• Annual influenza vaccination between Aug 1 – Dec 1.
• California Food Handler certification required within 90 days of hire.
• California Driver’s license in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver packaged meals to remote program sites across Los Angeles County.
• Assemble, pack and ensure proper temperature levels of meals for distribution.
• Maintain food inventory and prepare supply orders; rotate stock and record items.
• Maintain delivery equipment and vehicle in safe, clean condition.
• Prepare, cook and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for on-site and delivery to remote sites.
• Assist nutrition staff and support kitchen sanitation and inventory tasks.
