Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Driver/Cook to prepare and package meals for delivery to various program sites and assist in on-site food preparation. The role requires safe food handling, inventory management, and timely deliveries across Los Angeles County.

Responsibilities include cooking meals for on-site and remote site delivery, maintaining sanitation and equipment, and supporting nutrition staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks
• TB clearance within 6 months of hire; influenza, pertussis and measles vaccines required
• Lift up to 50 lbs and work in a busy, on-site kitchen environment

Responsibilities

• Deliver packaged meals to remote program sites across Los Angeles County
• Prepare, cook and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for on-site and delivery to remote sites
• Maintain inventory and sanitation standards in kitchen and storage areas
• Operate and maintain delivery equipment and vehicles in safe condition
• Ensure proper food temperatures and packaging for distribution to sites
