Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a CORRECTIONAL SENTENCE TECHNICIAN-F/C for the Tomoka Correctional Institution in Daytona Beach. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy of inmate sentencing records, updating commitment documents, and confirming release dates.

Work is not a telework position and requires reporting to the FDC office. Requires high school diploma and Microsoft Office experience, with preferred data entry or correctional setting experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess experience working with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Review commitment documents to understand sentencing rules and update sentence information.
• Synchronize information with Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Sheriffs, and Court Clerks to fix mistakes in commitment documents.
• Search OBIS to correct inmate identification and number assignments and ensure correct sentence details.
• Assess new commitments after intake to determine if a new inmate number is needed and adjust release dates.
• Document post-release supervision violations and coordinate with Central Office to adjust policies and procedures.
