Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a CORRECTIONAL SENTENCE TECHNICIAN-F/C in Daytona Beach to ensure accuracy of inmate sentencing records. You will review commitments, update release dates, and coordinate with legal and law enforcement partners to correct errors.

The role requires a high school diploma and proficiency with Microsoft Office; on-site work at Tomoka Correctional Institution is expected with no telework option.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must possess experience working with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Review commitment documents to update sentence information and verify release dates.
• Collaborate with Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Sheriffs, and Court Clerks to correct sentence details.
• Search OBIS to fix inmate identification and number assignments and ensure correct data entry.
• Evaluate new commitments to assign or modify inmate numbers and recalculate release dates.
• Document repeat offenders and post-release supervision violations; adjust policies as needed.
