Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years' experience in regulatory code/ordinance processes.
• Certifications in Florida Code Enforcement Officer Level I, FDLE Parking Enforcement Specialist, FDLE Traffic Control Specialist, and CPR within one year of hire.
• Must have good moral character with no felony or perjury/misrepresentation conviction.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve code/ordinance violations.
• Assist sworn officers and respond to non-emergency calls for assistance.
• Issue parking citations and monitor parking zones.
• Perform traffic control at accidents, school crossings, hazardous situations and events.
• Explain City codes to citizens and provide corrective-action guidance.
• Maintain radio contact with supervisors and police personnel.
• Drive city vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Inspect properties for code compliance.
• Prepare violation cases for Board consideration and testify as needed.
• Maintain thorough records and stay current with codes and licenses.
• May present to public groups on code enforcement.
