Job summary

City of Venice (FL) is seeking a Code Enforcement/Non-Police Support role to handle code violations, inspections, and public inquiries. You will assist sworn officers, patrol parking zones, and manage front-desk operations to support municipal safety and compliance.

The position requires a high school diploma, Florida certifications, and valid driver’s license. Applicants may be subjected to background checks and must meet character standards as set by the city.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years' experience in regulatory code processes.
• Certifications in Florida Code Enforcement Officer Level I, FDLE Parking Enforcement Specialist, FDLE Traffic Control Specialist, & CPR are required or obtain within one year.
• Must pass background check with no felony or perjury-related convictions.

Responsibilities

• Receive, record, investigate and resolve code/ordinance violation complaints.
• Assist sworn officers with duties and respond to non-emergency calls.
• Patrol parking zones and issue citations for violations.
• Perform traffic control for accidents, school crossings, hazards and events.
• Provide front lobby receptionist duties and administrative support.
