Job summary

AccessStar Community Living Services in Manassas, VA is hiring Community Coaches to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community and day-program settings. You'll help individuals explore the community, practice shopping, volunteer, develop social skills, and become more confident and independent.

No experience is required as paid training is provided; flexible scheduling and various benefits are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Dependable attendance and strong communication skills.
• Ability to complete electronic documentation.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• IDD or human-services experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Plan meaningful activities based on each person’s interests.
• Teach independent living, communication, safety, and social skills.
• Encourage personal choice, dignity, and community involvement.
• Provide transportation and hands-on assistance when required.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation.
• Protect individuals’ rights and report safety concerns.
