Job summary

The Salvation Army Anchorage Corps- Alaska Division seeks a Community Center Coordinator to lead the Anchorage Corps Community Center operations, including after-school programs, gym scheduling, youth activities, and outreach initiatives.

Reporting to the Corps Officers, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience, two years of supervisory work, strong organizational and communication skills, and readiness to supervise staff and volunteers while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; may substitute substantially similar professional work experience year-for-year
• Two years of supervisory experience; prefer direct Salvation Army youth program planning and supervising activities
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written skills are required

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee administration of the community center’s programs and activities
• Establish objectives aligned with organizational goals and mission
• Oversee day-to-day program activities ensuring standards and goals are met
• Demonstrate leadership to ensure safe conduct and development of members
• Lead activities and be a positive role model
• Develop outreach strategies to attract participants and increase engagement
• Coordinate youth programs and volunteering efforts
• Prepare monthly reports for the Anchorage Metro Advisory Board
• Supervise and support staff and volunteers to maintain a productive environment
• Ensure compliance with facility policies and safety regulations
