The Salvation Army A Georgia Corp in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Social Services Assistant to provide food, clothing, and financial assistance to eligible clients. You will interview clients, determine eligibility, and maintain accurate records, including HMIS entries, while coordinating with partners and volunteers.

Responsibilities include processing applications, arranging utility and landlord assistance, and supporting seasonal programs such as Camp Keystone and Thanksgiving Baskets.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; two years’ experience in social/public service preferred.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and successful completion of a level 2 background screening.
• Ability to interview clients to determine needs and eligibility; maintain accurate records and confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Interview clients to determine need and eligibility for services.
• Enter data into HMIS and spreadsheets; maintain client records.
• Coordinate seasonal programs (Camp Keystone, Back to School, Thanksgiving Baskets, etc.).
• Communicate with utility companies and landlords to arrange financial assistance.
• Ensure program policies are followed and maintain client confidentiality.
