Job summary

Kahak Health Services in Sandpoint, Idaho, invites compassionate DSPs to join our community-based team serving children with developmental disabilities. You will support independence by helping kids participate in community activities, reinforce daily living skills, and ensure safety during transportation and visits, following each child's plan of service.

Ideal candidates have at least six months of supervised experience with children who have developmental disabilities, current CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of supervised experience working with children with developmental disabilities (through paid work, practicum, internship, or job shadowing with supervision).
• Current CPR and First Aid certification is required.
• Satisfactorily complete Idaho criminal history/background check.

Responsibilities

• Support the child's participation in community activities identified on their plan of service.
• Reinforce skills such as communication, socialization, personal care, mobility, relationship-building, and participation in leisure activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living and support skill development in natural community settings.
• Provide transportation to approved activities.
• Monitor safety and maintain a healthy environment.
• Follow each child's plan of service and complete required progress notes for every visit.
