Job summary

Kahak Health Services in Idaho provides community-based supports for children with developmental disabilities. The Community-Based Supports DSP role helps children become more independent by engaging in community activities and practicing skills outside of school.

Responsibilities include supporting plan of service and transportation to activities. Candidates must be 18+, have at least six months of supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities, complete competency

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Six months supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• Complete Department-approved competency coursework.
• Receive instruction in participant needs and plan of service.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Pass Idaho criminal history/background check.

Responsibilities

• Support the child's participation in community activities per plan of service.
• Reinforce communication, social skills, personal care, mobility.
• Assist with activities of daily living in community settings.
• Provide transportation to approved activities.
• Monitor safety and maintain a healthy environment during visits.
• Complete required progress notes for every visit.
