Job summary

Youth Villages is seeking a Family Intervention Specialist to work in the Intercept program, providing intensive, home‑based support to families with youth facing emotional or behavioral challenges. You will conduct family sessions, assess needs, and collaborate with partners to sustain family stability.

The role involves travel to families’ homes within the community, strong documentation in EMR, and flexible scheduling to meet youth and family needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social services is required.
• Master’s degree in social services is preferred.
• Related fields include social work, counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling or family therapy.
• Experience with at‑risk youth and/or families is preferred.
• Clinical experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Carries a small case load as assigned by supervisory on an as‑needed basis.
• Holds individual and family sessions with each family three times a week, scheduled around families’ availability.
• Continuously assesses youth needs from a strength‑based perspective.
• Attends weekly meetings for professional development to enhance clinical skills.
• Drives up to 60–80 miles to meet with families in their homes and communities (travel may be required).
• Collaborates with other providers, case workers, and courts to plan treatment.
• Provides on‑call crisis support to youth and family (schedules vary by location).
• Completes accurate documentation in an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
