Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year in animal control or related field OR 6 months as an Animal Control Officer.
• Valid California Driver's License and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Educate the public on pet ownership and animal laws.
• Patrol areas to enforce laws and assist with animal rescue.
• Handle, transport, and care for animals using approved methods.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Prepare reports and testify in court when required.
• Support community programs and events.
