Pasadena Humane is seeking an Animal Control Officer in Pasadena, CA. This full-time, non-exempt role involves responding to calls, enforcing animal-related laws, rescuing animals, and educating the community on responsible pet ownership.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a California driver’s license, and prior animal-control experience or related work. Work schedules may include weekends, nights and holidays.

Competenze

Must be at least 18 years old.
Graduation from high school or GED.
1 year of paid, full-time experience in animal control or related field; OR 6 months as an Animal Control Officer.
Valid California Driver’s License and insurability to drive company vehicles.
Ability to write clear, accurate reports in a timely manner.
Proficiency with shelter systems, Microsoft Suite and email.

Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and animal laws.
Patrol assigned areas to enforce laws; assist with rescue and transportation of animals.
Handle and restrain animals safely using approved equipment.
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and perform dispatch duties.
Prepare reports, records, citations, and investigative documentation; testify in court.
Support community programs and disaster response operations.
Maintain equipment, vehicles, radios, and tools; collaborate with partners.
